Spiritual Education Camps

Spiritual Education Camps are instrumental for gradual and systematic study of Jain philosophy and spiritualism. To serve this purpose two camps of ten day each are organized in August and October month every year at Shree Todarmal Smarak Bhavan.

Nearly 1500-1800 people of all age-group from different parts of the country are benefited through religious discourse and classes taken by prominent Jain scholars in these camps. The total expenditure of organizing a camp stands nearly Rs. 4.00 lakh. All the participating trainees are provided free accommodation and meals facilities.

Education cum Training Camps.

Some peculiar skills are required to teach young children. A need was often felt of eligible teachers in the pathshalas run by Pathshala Committee. To meet the requirement 18 days vitarag vigyan education- cum-training camps were started in 1969 to train the religions teacher, who are teaching in such pathshalas. The education- cum-training camps are organized in the month of May every year. Where, the teachers are trained as per of B. Ed. training module to teach religions subjects.

So far, 1855 teachers have been imparted training through 40 training camps held in various regions of the country. Trainees are provided free accommodation and meals facilities in the camps.

The total expenditure to organize a camp stands nearly Rs. 7 to 8 lakh.

Mega Religions Education Camps (Group Camps)

This is an exclusive pattern to impart religions knowledge in maximum people with minimum means.

Major population of Jain community live in our villages or small towns; which is deprived of basic needs, required to lead the life. Jain monks or scholars hardly reach and stay there in such odd situation. Consequently, rural children remain devoid of basic knowledge of Jainism. They are not even aware about common things like-'Why are we Jains?', What is 'Namokar Mantra'. Whereas Grand Jain temples and huge collections of old jain scriptures speak the legend of golden past years of the villages.

The trust considered this fact seriously and these rural areas also illuminate with the light of religious knowledge and innocent kids could study basic Jainism. To serve the of said purpose, Mega Religious Education camps (group camps) were started in year 1996.

As per the scheme to conduct the camp, our team visits any region of 200 km radius and inspires such backward but curious rural community to hold eight days camp for religions purpose. We expect only meals and accommodations facility for the scholar and if possible to and fro fare. The institution affords rest of burden such as study material, publicity material, certificates and other requirements.

Selecting 40-50 place under 200 km radius during the visit. A team of 40-70 young scholars is sent there to conduct the camp with same programs on same date all together and teach children Jainism through psychological and practical methods. The participant children attend the classes, appear in exams and are awarded certificates in the valedictory function.

Thus a dynamic progress has been noticed in dissemination of Jainism through eight days Group Camps. Total 40+ group camps have been organized by the trust in last 10 years.

Children's Camp

These camps are so popular that the number of children in a camps has been reached up to 1200-1500.
